Elementary School Secretary...?

-I will be beginning my new job in a week. I will be an Elementary School Secretary. I am very excited. There will be two of us secretaries and we are both new. I was just hoping for some tips and support on what all to expect and how should I prepare myself. What should I bring on my first day? Thank you everyone!Just try not to be nervous. You'll be dealing with small children, their teachers, and parents. Try to be helpful and kind. Small children will be scared of a grumpy secretary, so keep your cool when stressed. Are you a mom? If so your motherly traits are going to come in handy as you'll be scheduling appointments, taking calls from parents, assisting sick children to call home, helping with pick up notes (ex. "Susie will be riding bus 119 instead of being a car rider today") and other tasks. Have fun!
