-I'm starting a new school soon and just need tips on how to approach people to start talking to. Would it be rude or awkward if I walked in looking happy and then just sat down besides someone and started talking? What do I do? I'm painfully shy.First off that's the best way to get interacted with people your age. If you don't mind my asking, how old are you?
You want to go to your new school with confidence and a smile, but you don't want to set off the vibe that your better than everybody else.
Introduce yourself and act as if you are talking to a childhood bestfriend. I remember when I first got to a new school and I was also very shy but it's ok.
Keep smiling and when talking to someone really try your best at meeting their eyes and saying what you really mean. You'll do fine, social skills are one of the most important lessons in life that you will have to learn.
When intriguing yourself I know it's a big step to take when talking to someone you do not know. The first day is always the hardest. Remember confidence and smiles. Don't look down at your feet and don't avoid people's stares. Look right at them and smile back. Everybody likes a new kid with some swagger. You'll do fine and you know it.
And remember be yourself. It's ok if your shy, it just brings out your personality out more. Don't forget to smile!
dress not to flashy but try to stand out and grin and when you sit down ask the person next to how how was there summer
P.S where do you live
