I was ward of the state, and they send me to a catholic boarding school in another state,?

-I was a ward of the State of IL growing up, they send me out of state to a boarding school, where I graduated from high School, they can only find part of my transcripts and I am attending College, and if I don't get the transcripts they will ask me to leave. I am at my wits end, I am 65 and would like to finish school, What can I doAsk the college what you can do to take place of the parts of the transcripts that are missing. You can submit the transcripts that you have the parts of, with documentation from the people holding them that they could only find part of your transcripts due to the age of the records. Would, say, you taking the GED exam suffice? In many cases it would, and it's a relatively small investment of time and money for you, compared to all that you'd lose if you can't finish this college. So talk to the college about this idea, and ask them for suggestions as well.

Most colleges have had experiences with this type of thing in the past, most often with foreign students who are coming out of countries where, perhaps due to war or etc., records are not available. So there *is* a way around this, and the GED may be it.
